Job description
Purpose of Role :
The Architect will be the thought leader for design the architecture of datacenter consolidation and architecture design in E&U.
Key Responsibilities:
- To apply industry knowledge (in Electric & Utility is preferred) and leveraging appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs during the datacenter consolidation.
- To work in levels of clients, especially with CIO, IT director, enterprise architect, PE. Understand, analyze and influence the client's needs.
- To anticipate, create, and define innovative concepts in a complex IT datacenter consolidation environment.
- To show thought leadership, demonstrate impact in architectural strategies and guide the architect team for architectural decisions.
- Lead team from different business units to deliver a success project, enhance IBM DCC methods, reference architectures, and best practices. Harvest DCC assets that can be replicated by other IBM teams.
Breadth of Experience:
- Have rich experience on data center consolidation and operation in E&U industry, especially in utility company like State Grid of China, South Grid of China.
- Have business knowledge to know the business impact to an enterprise.
- Have rich experiences on infrastructure architecture design such as availability, security, monitoring, hardware/software vendor selection, and etc.
- Have rich experiences on IT optimization, and cloud computing.
- Have rich experiences on server/storage virtualization, cloud computing.
- Have rich experiences on operation model development, and datacenter management.
Desire Candidate Profile:
- Over 10 years of IT Experience, out of which at least 5 years of service is preferred
- Experience in leading a team from multiple competency segments in a transformational environment
- Delivery experience in Infrastructure domain is a must
- Strong Project/Program Management experience
- Strong leadership skill
- Strong consultant skill
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- OPEN Group certified Enterprise Architect / Technology Architect is preferred
- Experience in handling E&U, Finance, or Telecommunication customers is preferred
- Fluent listening and speaking Chinese is preferred
Required
Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years experience in rich experience on data center consolidation and operation in EandU industry, especially in utility company like State Grid of China, South Grid of China.
At least 10 years experience in infrastructure architecture design such as availability, security, monitoring, hardware/software vendor selection, and etc.
At least 10 years experience in IT optimization, and cloud computing; server/storage virtualization, cloud computing; operation model development, and datacenter management
English: Intermediate
Chinese simplified: Fluent

Master's Degree
