
Job description
This position performs in a role in the following disciplines:
Executive Communications:
Generate new, creative and leading thoughts to articulate the company strategy, priorities, key messages, mission statements and value statements mainly through GCG GM’s communications and a variety of campaigns and methods, while focusing on strategy/direction for internal executive programs. Polish the image of, and write internal speeches/memos and create presentations for GCG General Manager
Employee Communications:
Translate business strategies to targeted employee audiences. Apply communications change management principles in identifying common objectives, while building communities to execute shared goals. This position also helps to lead the employee-to-employee communications and collaboration initiatives by working closely with other key stakeholders such as HR, Club, Volunteer Associations, CC&CA, Brand System teams.
Web/Intranet Communications:
Create web workforce enablement strategy, plans, while developing employee-to-employee communications strategy/programs. Utilize knowledge of web technologies to apply user-center design and usability principals for the web. May also write and edit articles for the web.
The key responsobilities of this position include:
1) Determine GCG GM Executive Communications priorities
• Create strategic messaging in support of the company strategy and business priorities
• Provide advice and counsel to GCG GM and senior executives on a variety of issues
• Develop and execute global and GCG communications campaigns (using a variety of channels, e.g., w3, speeches, social media, conversation modules etc.) that create awareness and understanding of key issues and opportunities across a spectrum of topics, e.g., strategy, business priorities, culture, values
• Create initiatives that help employees become confident users of social media
• Create informational communications
• Leverage the most innovative forms of collaboration and communication; nurturing a caring and eminence culture that support the sustainable growth of the company in GCG.
• Continue to execute traditional internal communications; leveraging the refreshed Workforce enablement strategic guidance.
2) End to end enablement of GCG workforce in support of:
• Corporate character and values
• Global the company brand image
• Informational communications (e.g. GCG strategy, winning with integrity )
Required Skills:
• Strong English & Chinese written and oral communications skills.
• Deep understanding the GCG workforce within the company, and an appreciation of the different routes and message delivery vehicles that can be used to reach them
• Ability to foster culture change; apply and translate business strategies to target audiences; strategic thinking and problem solving
• Experience in proactively identifying communications opportunities and executing supporting programs
• Knowledge of internal communications tools and processes, including web, new media, social networking, etc.
• Problem Solving: Uses creativity and business judgment in maximizing communications effectiveness, often going beyond traditional approaches and techniques. Develops and recommends new communications efforts that can benefit the organization's image and business success. Works on improving and streamlining department procedures and processes.
• Impact on business/scope: accountable for the effectiveness of individual assignments and their impact on department results or the overall communications program.
